CAGED BIRD COLLECTION

This mini collection was inspired by the Russian fairytale "Firebird", a magical and prophetic burning bird from a faraway land that gets captured by a hunter - yet she manages to escape and sheds her magical feathers across the lands. The story represents darkness, courage, and the strength it takes to push past ones confinement. The vision is brought to life through the main piece - the cage dress. A synchronous balance between the entrapment  represented by the feathers on the "wings" peering through the crinoline cage. Featuring luxurious Italian silks, hand-sewn sequins, sustainably sourced feathers, and faux leather. My mission was to make the wearer feel fierce, confident, and indestructible as if nothing could get in their way.
